The period between DEREALIZATION and my last release brought significant changes to my life. The ways in which I see the world around me changed, and I developed a certain dissociation from it. Moving to a house in the woods, choosing sobriety, opting out of social networks, and living through a global pandemic narrowed down my social circle to the point where I often found myself in total isolation. These moments were sometimes filled with melancholy, but I also found myself embraced by feelings of clarity, calmness, and acceptance. Detaching from the past, as well as my previous moniker, removed all boundaries I had felt constrained by, allowing me to express myself more freely. This helped me create sounds that evoke a broader palette of feelings and approach music production in a more experimental way.

I was questioning a lot of things in the process of creating this body of work, including my relationship with the past, myself, and my identity. Spending time in solitude and working on music, together with long-distance hikes in the mountains became a sort of therapy that allowed me to find peace within myself. Shaping the sounds often elicited an almost meditative experience where the act of creation was more important than the actual outcome. As a result, the music that forms this album is more organic and fluid, stripped of any beats. It traverses deep soundscapes that are often unsettling, sometimes possibly even beautiful — an intimate journey walked with peculiar emotional footprints. As the track names suggest, the process of DEREALIZATION was composed of different states or acts. While they may sound destructive or even self-destructive, the entire process has truly been about self-discovery. I have learned to no longer allow my past or surroundings to dictate who I am.
